1st – 5th Grade
Our 1st-5th grade class will be using a great anti-oppression and multi-cultural values curriculum for Unitarian Universalist children and youth written by Dawn Star Borchelt. We’re On Our Way engages children in a variety of anti-oppression and multi-cultural conversations using our Seven Principles as guiding values. Children will explore topics from race, gender, and ability to learning styles, politics and wealth, among others. They will explore what it means to be in right relationship with those who are different from themselves and some ways they can take action to make change in the world. This curriculum was specifically put together for this larger age range and we are very excited to see how it goes.
1st-5th Grade Religious Education classes will be held at the Fillmore Center (adjacent to the main church building) every Sunday after the Story for All Ages at 3:45pm. Classes are dismissed at 4:45pm.
