Kamel Elwazeir was born and raised in Doha, Qatar to Palestinian refugee parents. Kamel earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in Dubai. Following his graduation he decided to immigrate to the United States in 1999 to complete his higher education. He earned his Masters in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University and decided to stay in Colorado Springs after graduation. In 2009 he became the first and only member of his family to become an American citizen. He is currently serving his second term as President of the Islamic Society of Colorado Springs.
Feda Jodeh was born and raised in Denver, Colorado to Palestinian immigrant parents escaping occupation, she became a first generation Palestinian American Muslim. Feda attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and earned her Bachelors degree in Communications with a minor in Marketing immediately following her undergrad she went on to earn her Masters in Corporate Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Community Affairs. She is married to Kamel Elwazeir with whom she has three boys. Feda is currently a stay at home mom and serves as the Events and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Islamic Society of Colorado Springs. She is also working in tandem with her husband, Kamel, in representing the Muslim community in the greater Colorado Springs area as well as teaching religious and cultural competence throughout Colorado Springs.
