The Beauty Way

Increasing our awareness of the impact of white settler colonialism, we turn to the Navajo Beauty Way which was a form of ritual used to maintain spiritual integrity and retain personal power when tribal peoples were being displaced from their native lands onto reservations. We will learn one version of the chant: “Now I walk in Beauty. Beauty is before me. Beauty is behind me. Above and below me.”
