Rev. Dan King will share personal reflections on cultivating a life of meaning, inspired by the lives of Thich Nhat Hanh and Bishop Desmond Tutu as well as his study of a recent book by Quaker poet /theologian Parker Palmer.
Guest Minister: Rev Dr. Dan King, a graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry, Rev. King has served Unitarian Universalism as a professional Minister for 25 years in congregations from GA to MA and VA along with service to the UUA and other UU organizations.
Rev Dan was honored by being named Minister Emeritus of First UU Parish of Kingston (MA) as well as First UU Church of Houston. Still, he admits he was shaped by lay leadership as Board Member and President of a small SC fellowship near the end of his 20-year career as an attorney and manager in multiple contexts. Rev Dan and artist & teacher Nina Benedetto (life partners for 46 years) relocated to MA. Eventually, they retired to Houston to enjoy two grandchildren in each area, ranging in age from 5 to 16.
