Poverty: How to Find Center in Truth and Grace

Join us for Online or In-Person Worship Service

A local faith leader once told his congregation that, as change agents, we are called to be either truth-tellers or grace-givers. Taken in the context of people experiencing poverty, ostensibly this means that we must either tell difficult truths (rail against systems or people) or wantonly give grace (and supports) to people in need. In community, we will explore and discover together the Aristotelian golden mean; the middle way; the center, with recognition that it is only though the application of truth and grace that we can truly be effective change agents for people experiencing poverty.

Our speaker, Kristy Milligan, joined the Westside CARES team in July 2017. A longtime Westside resident and Colorado Kristy MilliganSprings native, she brings a sincere passion for serving neighbors in need and years of experience in nonprofit administration, fundraising, marketing and communications, and advocacy. Milligan holds an undergraduate degree in journalism and a master’s in public administration and strives every day to be both a truth-teller and a grace-giver.
