The Buddha’s teaching of the Divine Abidings – loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity. According to Buddhist philosophy, our basic nature is good and pure. Though sometimes, our basic nature of goodness is overshadowed by one or more of the three poisons, which are ill-will, greed, and ignorance. The Buddha taught that the cultivation of the divine abidings is a way to uncover our basic goodness that is already present – creating a friendliness with others and most importantly, a friendliness with ourselves. Join us to explore how the intentions of loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity can be transformative.
