For many of us Mother’s Day comes with a heart full of complex emotions and can even be a day we avoid altogether. For others, memories of being mothered well, are happily celebrated. Today we will explore the origin story of Mother’s Day, and a shift into seeing “mothering” as verb — as a way of thinking that we all have access to, and a way of nurturing our world and those within it. What if we could see “mothering” as a universal power that each of us can take ownership for, no matter our gender or family status.
