The old role of the priesthood was to be the intermediary for God — that some how there was a special direct line to The Holy that others don’t have. Bull. That was about authority and control not holiness. Instead, as your Minister, I try really hard to assert my humanity. For me, being a minister is about walking in the same life struggles that you do, and walking with authenticity not authority, risking being real so that you might feel the freedom to do so also. In this month of “story”, please be present as I share a very important part of my lifestory with you. I hope to bring the “medicine” of honesty, acceptance of limitation, vulnerability, and self-compassion that we all must cultivate.
